Statement on AI

Artificial Intelligence is having a profound effect on humanity and the planet.

It has the potential for good and evil.

We want to be transparent about AI-use; from the studio to the screen and back again. We do our best to avoid it in creative and business practices.

However, AI is integrated into all the platforms we use, including:

  • Squarespace (this website)

  • Instagram and Facebook, Edits app (owned by Meta).

  • Apple (maker of iPhone, iPad, MacBook)

  • Canva (for designing graphics, fliers, photo editing)

  • Google (search algorithms and results)

  • Grammarly (wordsmithing platform)

It is hard to avoid AI use altogether. As much as we would like to declare we are a ‘No-AI business’, we use it - often without knowing.

AI can speed up boring tasks and efficiently do things that humans would like to avoid. But is also driven to scrape and cut corners and steal intellectual property in ways we are only just beginning to understand. AI and other digital activities depend on data centres that need large amounts of energy and water to function.

‘Data centres can create significant carbon emissions. They also take up large tracts of land, put pressure on electricity grids and water supplies, and generate electronic waste.’ (Seyed ali Mirjalili The Conversation, 17 June 2026)

We want to use AI thoughtfully and will draw the line at using generative AI for idea generation, deep research, content and image creation.

This website and other promotional material

No AI was knowingly used in the creation of words, imagery or visual identity on this website. The site makes use of AI for business flow and technical optimisation, according to the terms and conditions outlined by Squarespace in its AI Terms.

We use the graphic “Made by Human Ingenuity” (created by Una Healy who has created ‘hi from a human’;) to show the commitment to creating things with human skill and curiosity.

We welcome your feedback about how you experience AI and invite you to learn more by reading the Creative Australia Generative AI and Creative Work position paper.

Amid all this challenging time we hope you can still be a creative person who nourishes their human skills and brain power.
